Mixed Media

Transitioning to New Mexico four years ago, after a lifetime rooted in the majestic landscapes of Colorado, I adopted a mantra: "Grow where you're planted." This guiding principle remains steadfast, although I've realized that establishing roots in a new environment is an evolving process. Initially, I believed that my creative essence transcended physical boundaries, unaffected by geographical relocation. However, as time unfolded, I found my artistic journey taking unexpected turns, guided by the nuances of my surroundings.

The perennial question echoed persistently: "How will this move impact your work?" Initially, I dismissed its significance, confident in the constancy of my narrative. Yet, as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into years, I began to discern subtle shifts in my creative expression. It was a revelation that unfolded gradually; now, I find myself navigating uncharted territories, relying on my heightened sense of perception, intimate insights, and viewers' keen observations to guide me. Each brushstroke, each layer, is infused with the essence of my newfound surroundings—a testament to the profound influence of the environment on artistic vision.

In this journey of self-discovery, I am reminded of the boundless potential, and the versatility of this medium allows me to channel my emotions, memories, and dreams onto the canvas. I endeavor to capture the fleeting beauty of abstract landscapes, the serenity of still-life scenes, and the ineffable essence of the human spirit. My pieces invite you to embark on a journey of discovery—a voyage into the depths of imagination, where reality and abstraction intertwine, and the possibilities are limitless.
